Background

The workshop is targeted at local Bajau/Sama community leaders to look for ways and means on how to develop their communities in all aspects of human development in their respective countries.

The workshop provides opportunities for the leaders to discuss issues pertaining to  local Bajau/Sama cultures, education and socio-economic achievements in their respective communities.

Workshop discussions will also address more on ways and means to deal with initial data provided by local leaders in anticipation of changing conditions in their communities:

Objectives

·         To promote academic research on local Bajau/Sama ethnography, linguistics, lexicology, culture, ethno-musicology, demography, folklore, anthropology, socio-economics etc in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

·         To give opportunity to leaders and researchers to express and discuss matters pertaining to all aspects of human development in Bajau/Sama communities.
